Good morning,
This week’s Backpack Express is ready for you:
Morning Drop Off: Thank you to those of you following our morning drop off procedures. A few reminders about morning drop off so that we do not have traffic jams on Sowams Rd.:
Your child does not need door to door service, even in the rain. Your child should get out of the vehicle wherever you are stopped in the driveway as long as there is a sidewalk.
You need to pull up as far as you can so we can get as many vehicles in the driveway as we can.
Your child needs to be able to exit the vehicle without assistance. Parents/Grandparents/Babysitters/Adults should NOT be getting out of the vehicles to assist your child. If you need to assist your child, please park in the lot.
Allow other vehicles to exit the lot if you are on Sowams Rd. When a person is taking a left onto Sowams and no one is letting this person out, it backs up everyone. Please consider taking a right out of the lot if there is a lot of traffic.
Information about dropping off in the morning may be found here.
Barrington Education Foundation Star: Each year, the BEF has their STAR program. This is a program where you can purchase a star as a way to say thank you to a faculty and staff member in our school and other schools in the Barrington Public Schools. You can access information about the STAR program here.
Pick Up at Town Meeting: With a Town Meeting happening on Monday afternoon, hosted by Mrs. Gleason’s class, dismissal can be chaotic. If you are attending Town Meeting and will be taking your child home directly from Town Meeting, please send a note with your child on Monday. If you do not, we will be sending your child home their normal Monday way.
Grade Three Choral Performance: Our Third Grade Chorus will perform for parents on December 19, 2024, at 1:45. If you are picking your child up at the end of the performance, please see the message above about picking up your child at Town Meeting.
Progress Reports: With the end of the first trimester coming up, students will receive a progress report. These reports will be available in Aspen on December 16, 2024. (You will receive an email indicating when they are viewable by parents.) If you do not remember your username or password, you may email aspenhelp@barringtonschools.org. We do not have access to this information at the school.
No School: As a reminder, school is out from December 23, 2024, through January 1, 2025. We are back to school on January 2, 2025.
Have a wonderful day.
Best,
Jim Callahan
Principal
