Backpack Express

Good morning,

This week’s Backpack Express is ready for you:

  • Halloween:  Just as a reminder with Halloween tomorrow…we do not have students wear costumes to school on this day.  Also, candy to be distributed to classmates should not be sent to school; it will be sent home with your child.

  • Book Fair:  The Book Fair will take place the week of November 12, 2024.  Volunteers are needed to help out with set up, assist students during the school day and at Family Night, and help with clean up.  You need to have a background check on file with the district.  If you are able to volunteer, you may sign up here.  An email will be sent out to let you know when your child’s class will visit the Book Fair.

  • PTO Meeting:  Our next PTO meeting is scheduled for November 4, 2024, at 7:00 in the evening.  It is a virtual meeting.  At this meeting, there will be representatives here from several companies to update families on the state of the school construction project.  This will be the first item on the agenda.  A link for the meeting will be sent that morning.

  • Lost and Found:  We already have jackets and sweatshirts and various water bottles in our lost and found. Please remind your child to check it out if you are missing something.

  • Hot Lunch Menu:  You may find the November hot lunch menu here.  Also, it’s never too late to apply for free lunch.  Information about this may be found on our district’s website lunch information page.

  • No School:  As a reminder, we do not have school on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, due to it being election day.  There is also no school on Monday, November 11, 2024, in honor of Veterans Day.

  • November DEIB Calendar: The district’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee has created a list of various holidays and celebrations for the month of November.  You may access it here.

Have a great day.

Best,

Jim Callahan

Principal
