Good afternoon,
Here’s this week’s Backpack Express. Happy Reading.
Giving Garden Plant Sale: Once again, some of our younger students have started to grow plants from seeds. These plants will be on sale Thursday and Friday morning and afternoon. More information, including plant types, may be found here.
Third Grade: A reminder that PTO is collecting photos for the 3rd graders in order to prepare a video presentation at the reception. Ideally, we'd like to have one baby or toddler photo for each student (you are more than welcome to submit both!). In addition, the theme of this year's reception is the Olympics. The core values of the Olympics are excellence, respect and friendship. If you have any photos of SOWAMS 3rd graders playing sports, showing respect and friendship, please share with us so that we can incorporate them into the video. Photo submissions are due next Friday 5/17 via google form here.
Sweetheart Dance:
Anyone that has RSVPd but not paid — to please pay here via QR code or send cash in an envelope to the Sowams office no later than EOD Tuesday 5/14. Please email jayne.babine@gmail.com once you have paid so we can keep track. NOTE: We will not be taking cash at the door.
If you have not signed up to volunteer - please consider helping out. We are low on volunteers, especially for set-up (3:30-5:45) and dessert donations (cupcakes). Even if you can only give 30 minutes, we’ll take it! Either sign up on the sign up genius link here or email separately with specific availability to jayne.babine@gmail.com. We will try to email all volunteers a list of their ‘jobs’ on Thursday.
If you are attending and would like to pre-order Kona Ice to skip the lines, please do so here (use QR code for easiest check-out). Once processed, your name will be added to the pre-order list. On the night of the dance you will receive a token at check-in to bring to the Kona Ice truck to retrieve your treats. The pre-order will be live until 8am on the day of the event (5/17)
No School in May: Just a reminder, there is no school on May 27, 2024, in honor of Memorial Day.
Community Notice: There is one community notice from Barrington Pop Warner football and cheerleading.
Best,
Jim Callahan
Principal
Sowams School Mission: Everyone learns every day.
Sowams School Vision: Sowams School will engage students to be their best selves.
