Good morning,
This week’s Backpack Express is ready for your reading pleasure:
Yearbook: It’s that time of year for the yearbook. There are two different bits of information about the yearbook:
Yearbook Sales: The yearbook is now available for purchase. Orders are accepted online at coffeepond.com. The cost of this year’s yearbook is $23.00. Directions on how to order may be found here.
Yearbook Boosters: Want to congratulate your child on a successful year? Want to thank a special adult at Sowams? The boosters are the way to do it. Boosters are on sale now through April 5, 2024. Information about the boosters may be found here.
DEIB: The district’s DEIB committee has put together information on various holidays and observances for each month. You may access the April information here.
BMS Fundraiser: The Barrington Middle School is having a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on April 5, 2024. More information about this may be found here.
Nayatt 5K: This fun event is coming up. April 6, 2024, is the date for this year’s Nayatt 5K. Information about the 5K and registration may be found here.
No School Days: The following are no school days in Barrington:
This Friday, March 29, 2024, is a no school day in observance of Good Friday.
There is no school on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, due to it being primary day in Rhode Island.
There is no school on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in observance of Eid Al-Fitr.
PTO Meeting: The next virtual PTO meeting will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 7:00 in the evening. A link to the meeting will be sent out Monday.
PTO/Arts Alive Play: Second and third graders who are participating in the play will have auditions next Monday or Wednesday, depending on the day you signed up your child. We will give a list of participants to the teachers so you do not have to send a note indicating your child is staying for the play. If your child is NOT staying for the play on a given day, you need to send a note. Otherwise, we will be automatically sending your child on the day of their audition/rehearsals.
Have a wonderful day. For those of you celebrating Easter this week, have a very Happy Easter.
Best,
Jim Callahan
Principal
Sowams School Mission: Everyone learns every day.
Sowams School Vision: Sowams School will engage students to be their best selves.
