This week’s Backpack Express is ready for you, filled with a lot of good information about our school:
PTO’s Extended Day: Registration is now open for PTO's Extended Day! These after school classes will take place from 2:35 pm - 3:35 pm on either Tuesdays or Thursdays for six weeks (between February and April vacations). An informational sheet listing the classes, eligible grades and course descriptions can be found here. Please register using this google form https://forms.gle/5YUsEEg6Yxtd... by Friday, January 26th. Registrations submitted after 1/26/24 will not be included in the lottery. Each child will be placed in one class. Families will be notified of class placement the week of January 29th. Please contact SowamsPTOExtendedDay@gmail.com with any questions.
PTO Family Event at Providence Bruins: The PTO is hosting a family, fun event at the Providence Bruins on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 3:05 PM. Information about purchasing tickets may be found here.
PTO Fun Friday: We will have a Hilarious Hat Day on Friday, January 19, 2024.
PTO/Arts Alive for Grades 2 and 3: Save the date for a parent meeting about the second and third grade play. On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 6:00 PM, Arts Alive will be hosting a virtual informational meeting. It will be an opportunity to find out about the audition process (all students do get a part), rehearsal schedules, logistics, expectations, and have your questions answered. Please email kotsirisc@barringtonschools.org for the zoom link. Registration for the play will take place in early March.
Drop Off in the Morning: Please remember that whomever is dropping off your child in the morning needs to stay in the vehicle. By getting out, you are holding up traffic. I know the past couple of days, vehicle doors have been frozen shut so I understand that you had to get out of the vehicle. Also, if a car is pulling out of the parking lot, please let them go. If they can’t get out, eventually, the line comes to a stop.
