There are a few additions to this week’s Backpack Express:
Sowams Speedway: Our school’s mileage club is going to start next week. Speedway takes place during recess times on Mondays and Wednesdays and is run by volunteers. We are looking for volunteers to help out with this. If you have a background check on file with the district and you would like to help out with this fun student activity, you may sign up here for days and times that work for you.
PTO’s Apple Picking: Due to the impending storm, our PTO has postponed this Sunday’s apple picking fun to Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 9:00-10:00. Updated information may be found here.
Morning Drop Off: There are two reminders about morning drop off:
Parents should not be getting out of their vehicles to help your child out. They need to be able to do this on their own. When parents get out of the vehicle, it backs up traffic onto Sowams Rd.
Parents need to have their child get out of the vehicle wherever there is a sidewalk. You do not need to drop your child off at the front door. When you do this, traffic gets backed up.
